Wish List: Black Winter Wedges

I’m on a tight budget at the moment but if I were to “invest” in one thing from the high street shops for this coming autumn/winter season it would be a pair of ankle-length black wedge booties. Wedges are practical and comfortable but still more elegant than flat boots. I’m strictly aiming for basic black ones with lace ups and/or zipper. Here’s a few I like, some more than others (well hello Opening Ceremony & Minimarket!!). Click on the images to go to the online shops:

More H&M bling

English: Speaking of H&M jewellery, look what my friend just bought for around 15 pounds. The necklace is made of metal bits and “leather” cords. I was convinced it was a piece of expensive designer bling. Well done H&M.

Wishlist: One shoulder maxi dress from Topshop

Køb den her.

English: I was really tempted by this stylish one shoulder maxi dress when I spotted it in a very busy Topshop yesterday. It would be perfect with the elastic band wedges from Dune and a bit of bling. Comes in the red/brown colour “Brick” as well and costs 28 pounds. Buy it here.

Wishlist: Dune elastic strap sandal

English: I still haven’t found the perfect pair of flat, practical summer sandals. They’re all so freaking boring. What I have found while quickly browsing the highstreet stores are around 10 different pair of lovely wedges: from boots to sandals. I spotted these in the window at Dune yesterday and I just love them. Simple and classy and the price is also pretty good: 65 pounds. They come in dark blue and khaki too.

You could call wedges practical and use them everyday, couldn’t you? Exactly, that’s what I thought! 🙂 I haven’t tried them on yet, so I don’t know how comfortable they are. Guess I’m heading for Dune again….

Wishlist – Dover Street Market perfume

Tidligere favoritter har været: Chanel no. 5, Cristalle, Coco Chanel, Miss Dior, Narciso Rodriguez for her, Scent by Costume National og Agent Provocateur.

Pris: 50 pund.

English: While in Japan I fell in love with this Comme des Garcons perfume. It’s called Dover Street Market just like the company’s mesmerizing boutique/warehouse in Dover St. in London. If you haven’t been there you should definitely go. It’s amazing, although very expensive.

The fragrance is woody, peppery and musky (the notes include bergamot, mandarin, black pepper, coriander, incense, juniper berry, cedar, labdanum, patchouli and pine). As a lot of their other perfumes, it’s unisex. The bottle is designed by the company’s incredible founder Rei Kawakubo.

This perfume is not for everyone, but it’s actually not as heavy as it sounds as a lot of the heavier notes evaporate quite quickly. But then again I’m biased as I don’t like my perfumes too light, fresh or flowery. Some of my favourites through the years have been: Chanel no. 5, Cristalle, Coco Chanel, Miss Dior, Narciso Rodriguez for her, Scent by Costume National and Agent Provocateur.

I didn’t buy this one in Japan as I had already spent too much money, so I was very happy when I found it on Dover Street Market’s website. Even better: it’s 10 pounds cheaper here than in the Comme des Garcons store in Tokyo. Price: 50 punds.

Wishlist: ghd hair straightener

English: Last month I was in Copenhagen and went to visit an old friend. She had just bought the ghd IV hair straightener and was going on and on and on about how fabulous it is. I know that the ghd straighteners are supposed to be amazing, but they’re also expensive, so I’d convinced myself that they couldn’t be that much better than my cheap one from Babyliss.

I was wrong. My friend insisted on trying it on my hair and it completely transformed it from haystack frizz to smooth velvet. So now it’s on top of my wishlist. Costs 119 pounds here.
